A person must have the following qualifications to become an International Association of Accounting Professionals (IAAP) Apprentice:
- At least eighteen (18) years of age;
- Of good moral character;
- At least a Senior High School student or its equivalent;
- Had accomplished the IAAP Apprentice Form; and,
- Paid the Apprentice Fee of two hundred pesos (P200.00)
- Appointee-volunteers who serve in various Board, Councils, Committees, and Sub-Committees are exempted in paragraph, items 1.3.6, and 1.4.6.
- Only regular members are qualified to use the IAAP Member logo in their information materials.
- The Membership Council shall endorse to the President an applicant after verifying that all the requirements as prescribed in this policy are met, except when it received a written report from its member(s) duly signed and stating the reasons why an applicant should not be accepted for membership.
- The President is authorized to issue the membership ID, QR Code, and IAAP Member’s Logo to qualified and duly inducted members of the association.
- The Board of Trustees reserves the right to ascertain the initial membership of an invitee/applicant.

(1) The technical title as Associate in Financial Planner may be shown as “afp” for post-nominal designation.
(2) The technical title as Registered Financial Accountant may be shown as “rfa” for post-nominal designation.
(3) The technical title given as Certified Cost Accountant may be shown as “CCA” for post-nominal designation.
3.1 The registration is a part of the membership process. It starts from accomplishing the Apprentice Membership Registration form or the Recognized Prior Learning (RPL) Membership Registration form.
3.2 Payment of the membership fee is a requirement for the processing of the membership registration.
3.3 The Membership Council shall process the registration of and submit the names of those who are qualified to Office of the President for concurrence.
3.4 The process of the membership registration process mentioned in this paragraph shall culminate upon the Induction of Membership in the association.
3.5 The apprentice membership pathway is normally offered to students.
3.6 An applicant for the apprentice membership has to comply with the requirements in paragraph “1.2”.
3.7 During the apprentice registration, an applicant has to identity the training program he/she would like to avail and enroll with an accredited training provider and subsequently apply for assessments, and have six (6) months to complete the same.
3.8 After passing the assessment program, a member has six (6) months to secure the new Membership Title, otherwise the validity of the assessment expires. In such case, the learner must retake the assessment and pay another two thousand pesos (P2,000.00) for the assessment fees.
3.9 How to become an Apprentice Member?

3.10 How to become an Associate Member?
3.10.1 Enroll for the micro training programs with CERTS Educational Services through its website https://certsedu.tech.
3.10.2 Take and pass the assessment for the enrolled certification program.
3.10.3 Pay your associate membership dues.
3.10.4 Pay your IAAP Membership Title(s).
3.10.5 Fill out the Associate Membership Application Form at https://iaap.international/membership/.
3.10.6 Attach to the Associate Membership Application Form your certification as a passer of an associate or registered training program such as Registered Financial Accountant I, Associate Financial Planner, Registered Materials Accountant, Registered Income Tax Practitioner, and other similar titles.
3.10.8 The Membership Council will process your IAAP Membership Title within thirty (30) calendar days.
3.11 How to become a Regular Member?
3.11.1 Enroll for the micro training programs with CERTS Educational Services through its website https://certsedu.tech.
3.11.2 Take and pass the assessment for the enrolled certification program.
3.11.3 Pay your regular membership due.
3.11.4 Pay your IAAP Membership Title(s).
3.11.5 Fill out the Regular Membership Application Form at https://iaap.international/membership/
3.11.6 Attach to the Regular Membership Application Form your certification as a passer of a certification program such as Certified Professional Bookkeeper, Certified Financial Accountant, Certified Cost Accountant, Certified Management Accounting Practitioner, Certified Auditor, and Certified Tax Accountant.
3.11.7 The Membership Council will process your IAAP Membership Title within thirty (30) calendar days.
- A Membership Identification Number (MIN) shall be uniquely and indefinitely assigned to a member.
- A Membership Card with its corresponding QR code shall also be issued to a member.
- A Certificate of Membership (COM) shall also be issued to a member.
- The Registration is valid for two (2) years.
- The membership period ends on December 31 of each year.
- There shall be an Induction of Membership in the association at least once a year.
- The induction year in the membership shall not be counted as full year of membership and shall be excluded in the 2-year active membership period.
- A member is in the active membership status if all the requirements for membership are complied.
- Membership is renewable every two (2) years.
- An endorsement from the Continuing Professional Development Council (CPDC) is required for the renewal for membership. The CPDC shall issue guidelines on such endorsement.
- Renewal in membership allows the continuous use of the membership QR code, membership titles and recognition, and access to the membership privileges.
- Renewal in membership preserves the status for active membership.
- Registered and certified members are qualified to use their post-nominal when they are in their active membership status.
- A Certified Membership Title refers to the membership certifications, such as Certified Professional Bookkeeper, Certified Financial Accountant, Certified Cost Accountant, Certified Management Accounting Practitioner, Certified Financial Manager, Certified Auditor, Certified Tax Accountant, and other membership certifications approved by the Board of Trustees.

- A membership is considered active unless deactivated, suspended, or cancelled.
- A deactivated member has its name still included the Registry of Membership, however with marked “deactivated”, and therefore cannot exercise the rights and privileges as an active member.
- A suspended member is one whose name is found in the Registry of Membership however with marked “under suspension”, and, therefore, loses the rights and privileges as a member during the suspension period.
- A person whose membership in the Association is cancelled shall have the name permanently delisted from the Registry of Membership and all the rights and privileges awarded, bestowed, or conferred as a member have been revoked by the Association.
- Members who are not paying their dues may be deactivated, suspended, or cancelled.
- A membership may be deactivated for not paying the annual membership dues and for failure to regularly renew a membership title.
- A membership may be suspended and cancelled if a member is found in violation of the Code of Ethics for IAAP or has shown conduct unbecoming of an IAAP member as resolved by the Ethics Board.
- A membership may be suspended or cancelled even if the membership to the Association is paid in full.
